Dial-A-Carol is a 60+ year tradition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Once a year, during the week of winter finals, student and local volunteers gather in a dormitory lobby that’s transformed into a call center where anyone can call and request a live singer to sing a holiday song, at any time of day from anywhere in the world.
